This is a short story written by me in 2008 for a souvenir. Publishing it here now.
There lived a boy named Aryan who
loved his mother more than anything on earth. He had a friend named Piyush who
used to degrade his mother for all silly reasons. Aryan would advise Piyush to
love his mother and not hurt her at any cost. But Piyush would not listen.
One day, when Aryan had
been to Piyush`s house, he saw Piyush quarreling with his mother which ended
in tears of his mother. Aryan could not bear it and he decided to teach Piyush
a lesson. He went towards Piyush, took him out, put his arm around Piyush`s
shoulder and started to talk the unnecessary things for a long time. Aryan made
it a point to not let off his hand easily over Piyush`s shoulder. Time passed
by. Frustrated by this, Piyush pulled off Aryan`s arm and threw it in force. At
that time, Aryan said to Piyush, "When you can`t bear an arm`s weight for
just 15 minutes over your shoulder, just think how your mother carried all your
weight for 9 months in her womb." Tears started to flow on Piyush`s cheeks
and he promised Aryan to take good care of his mother hereafter and never hurt
her again.
Aryan went home happily seeing his friend`s
changed attitude. He told everything about Piyush to his mother and she seemed
happy to hear this. Aryan and his mother used to discuss everything daily and
had an apt closeness between them. The neighbors were jealous seeing Aryan and
his mother being so close and they wished to have a son like Aryan. The next
morning, both Aryan and his mother`s corpses were found, held hand in hand as
there was a massive earthquake in the city.
Epilogue:
If u think it is a tragic end, you are really wrong. They were the luckiest
people on earth as they inhaled their last breath simultaneously. If son had
died and mother survived, his soul could not have bear the picture of his
mother putting tears in front of his corpse and if mother had died and son
survived, he would have definitely gone blank.
Covered in simple but with rich meaning.keep writting.. waiting for your next new blog:)
